For the second year in a row, the rapper is getting together to #SaveChicago by creating and listing events that young people can take part in, including leadership, sports, spoken word, community programs, etc. The idea is for young people to be visible and get outside in their communities in a way that is positive and empowering. The #SaveChicago campaign has drawn positive attention from other local stars who also started participating in the initiative by either showing support or tweeting about it.
Some of Chicago’s neighborhoods have become notorious for the violence, often involving young people. We hope that this becomes a regular initiative for the Windy city to empower those who need it most!
