2 Chainz speaks on comparisons between his run in 2012-2013 and Future’s current winning streak.
One of the top stories this year has been Future’s incredible string of releases. He’s put out two stellar mixtapes and two No. 1 albums, including a joint effort with Drake. And he put out Monster, the tape that started it all in late October of 2014. Is his run historic? Well, some people have been saying that 2 Chainz had a period of similar productivity in 2012 and 2013. At least that’s what the hosts of the Rap Radar podcast think, and when 2 Chainz was the guest on their latest episode, they asked the Atlanta rapper to speak on the comparisons.
Personally, I don’t quite see the comparison. Tity Boi certainly had a bunch of hits during the one year period in which he dropped his first two albums, Based on a T.R.U. Story and B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, but those were his only full projects. Regardless, the quality of both albums is certainly up there with everything Future has been putting out.
