Kendrick Lamar is just swimming in accolades at this point.
Kendrick Lamar has always repped his hometown of Compton, California. Now, he’s getting recognition from the city for everything he has done to tell the city’s story and put it on the map (again).
Today on Twitter, Compton mayor Aja Brown tweet at Kendrick to announce he’d be receiving a key to the city on February 13th. Kendrick responded briefly and graciously. He included the phrase ‘HUBLUV’, a reference to Compton’s nickname ‘Hub City’ due to its central location within Los Angeles county.
This announcement follows Kendrick Lamar being honored as the Grand Marshal of the Compton Christmas Parade in December of 2015.
