Erykah Badu is a genius, and for the last year or so, she’s applied that genius to remixing the songs that are getting lodged in the American zeitgeist. She remixed Hotline Bling. Seriously.
Even better though is this new take on Kanye West’s Real Friends
Badu takes that beat, takes the hook from Whodini’s 1984 song Friends, adds her voice, and voila: A few days later, we already have the definitive remix.
