The Story from the one who nominated Philly – from Lulu Jackson:
Philly has experienced good times and bad times; he has been married, divorced, and became a father at a young age. He had an off & on football career, a life threatening car accident and was even homeless. Despite many challenges, Philly kept his faith in God and went on to have several successful ventures. Throughout everything, Philly always remained humble; he lifted himself above all his hardships through his walk with God. Philly is an avid believer that with God all things are possible! He took a leap of faith and pursued writing. With the encouragement of his Facebook friends, he realized that by helping others through words he was in turn helping himself to heal. From books, to stage plays, to movies, Philly has used his experiences to uplift and help others. He is definitely one of Cleveland’s hometown heroes and will be undoubtedly making a impact nationally before you know it!
Congrats to Philly he will be attending the NAACP Image Awards representing the 216 in Los Angeles, California!
