SMH. This teen turned his former high school prom night into a total nightmare before being killed by police himself.

According to the NY Daily News, students at Antigo High School were enjoying their night at prom when 18-year-old Jakob E. Wagner, a former student who had graduated last year, opened fire outside of the school. Two students were injured; a female who was treated and released for her wounds and a male who had to undergo surgery but is expected to recover.

Authorities say an officer was patrolling the school when he engaged in gunfire with the suspect, “stopping the threat.”

“Hats off to them, they did their job,” the prom’s DJ, Brandon Irish,  told the Daily News. He continues to say that the students were ordered into the school’s gymnasium and stayed there until about 1 a.m.

“You hear about it, but you don’t think it’s going to happen close to you,” Irish said. “We’re a really tight knit community. Everybody knows everybody.”
