Pusha T has been outspoken this election season with his co-sign of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her running mate, Tim Kaine. The G.O.O.D. Music president is now taking a stand on one of the key issues on the ballot in California, the legalization of marijuana. Pusha appears in a PSA advocating for West Coast voters to say yes to Proposition 64.

“Marijuana arrests are the engine that’s driving the war on drugs,” the Virginia rapper says. “It’s one of the number one reasons people trying to reenter their communities are sent back to prison.”

Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska have already legalized recreational marijuana and Pusha, who was known for his coke raps as he rose to prominence in the 2000s, says that if California were to follow suit, it would have a big influence on the country as a whole.

“I’m not a California voter, but I know when good legislation passes in the biggest state, other states follow,” he adds, “and that’s an important step in ending mass incarceration around the country. What’s most important to me is keeping people who are coming home, home.”
