Tupac Shakur to Be Inducted at 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony‬

Congrats! Tupac Shakur will finally join the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I think it’s been a long time coming but there has been controversy regarding Hip-Hop being apart of the Hall Of Fame even though it originated from the genre of music. The legendary rapper will be one of the inductees at the 2017 induction ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on April 7 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Pac will be part of a class that includes Joan Baez, Pearl Jam, Yes, Journey and Electric Light Orchestra. Nile Rodgers, the lead guitarist of the band Chic, is also set to receive the Award for Musical Excellence at the ceremony.

Pac was officially nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this past October. Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after their first release. The late artist’s debut album 2Pacalypse Now was released in November 1991.
