Sometimes heartwarming stories are born out of tragedy.
Theodore Brown, 25, was killed in South Florida last week while on a business trip. The investigation into his death is still ongoing.
Brown was from Bowie, Maryland. His family started a GoFundMe campaign in order to have his body sent back to his hometown so that he could have a proper funeral.
Christian Hullett, a Cleveland native and manager at the hotel that Brown was staying at in Florida, was sickened by the news of Brown’s death. Upon hearing of the GoFundMe campaign he wanted to assist this family in any way possible. He wanted to raise awareness to the campaign so that Brown’s family could get their loved one back.
So he reached out to comedian and morning show radio host Rickey Smiley and his non-profit organization – The Rickey Smiley Foundation. Rickey Smiley and his foundation took things to the next level and paid for the entire service.
“I reached out to the big brother Rickey Smiley in hopes of lending this family his voice, but he gave them his heart.” – Christian Hullett
