Ron Samo
Coming from the Westide of Akron Ron Samo has grown to become one of Akron’s most talented unsigned artist. Growing up he began rapping with brother Von Gogh in which they formed MainEventHD. In 2010 they prepared to put out their first mixtape entitled The Orientation while being sophomores in high school. The mixtape was finally finished and released on March 7, 2011, it created a lot of buzz around the city and got people listening. After the release of The Orientation the group produced two more mixtapes (The Warmup; Cool, Weird & High) before deciding to go there separate ways and go solo. Since graduating high school in 2012, Ron was debating about taking a break from music seeing as he just wasn’t having fun anymore making music. Two years later Retro J (Samo’s Cousin) convinced him to get back in the studio thus forming Slap Squad. From 2014-2015 he stayed in the studio working on his debut solo mixtape Who Ron Samo? which was released on Livemixtapes 1/8/2016. Ron Samo is currently under indie labels SlapSquad x HDMG and in the process of recording upcoming EP T.R.A.P, set to release some time this Spring/Summer. While trying to grab the attention of the music industry he continues to work hard on music and create a name for himself.
