Rihanna’s Working on New Music. Stop Everything.

She was gone (from music) for a minute (sort of) but she’s back with the jumpoff. According to reports, Rihanna is working on her ninth studio album, which may come in the form of a double-disc project. A source tells Metro that “she’s currently recording two albums – one full of chart-friendly songs, and another made up of moody and experimental tracks – and is considering releasing a double disc if she feels the songs won’t mesh well on the same album.”

Ri somewhat confirmed new music reports on Instagram when she responded to a fan’s request for new music with “She coming sis.”

Cosby Show Reruns Are Reportedly Being Pulled from TV.

Atlanta-based network Bounce TV is removing reruns of the long-heralded show in the wake of Bill Cosby’s guilty verdict. As Page 6 notes, Bounce began airing reruns of The Cosby Show in 2015 upon acquiring it in a multi-network deal. In a statement reportedly released to multiple media outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter, the network says the pull will be “effective immediately.”

The New York Time‘s Weinstein Investigation Is Being Turned into a Movie.

Plan B (12 Years a Slave, Moonlight) and Annapurna have teamed up to pick up rights to bring the story of NYT‘s Weinstein investigation to the big screen. “The thrust of the film isn’t Weinstein or his scandal,” Deadline explains. “This is about an all-women team of journalists who persevered through threats of litigation and intimidation, to break a game-changing story, told in a procedural manner like Spotlight and All the President’s Men.”

Cardi B’s Being Sued by Her Former Manager, Who Also Co-Wrote “Bodak Yellow”.

Klenord “Shaft” Raphael, who had represented Cardi since 2015, is reportedly seeking $10 million in damages for “breach of contract, unjust enrichment,” and an exhaustive list of many other claims. In a statement shared by Variety, Shaft’s rep writes:

“Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image. While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint. Shaft is confident that his lawsuit will validate his conduct and substantiate his legal claims.”

Cardi moved from Shaft and KSR Group to Solid Foundation/Quality Control in March.
