Shalah Turner is the owner and managing member of Conscious Consulting LLC. A company she launched in 2015. It starts with an idea is more than just a tagline, it is Shalah’s story. For Shalah this is a culmination of skills she has used in both her professional and educational background.
Shalah obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English and Literary Studies from Lake Erie College. Shalah went on to gain a Master’s in Public Administration from Cleveland State University where she focused on youth policy and best practices. At the core of all practices and her approach for each project is a strong focus on intentional research.
She is a highly sought after speaker on issues of trauma-informed teaching practices and has 10 years of experience in strategy and program development. Shalah has worked with a host of organizations, school districts and individuals to create clear action steps to assist them in completing their designated goals.
In addition to her role as sole manager of Conscious Consulting, Shalah maintains active involvement in her community. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Greater Cleveland Alumnae Chapter. She also serves on the board for Cardinals Nest a not for profit organization that focuses on mentoring youth and providing scholarship opportunities for college. She is the project lead for Turkey Takeover annual giveaway and active supporter of East Cleveland Get Connected initiatives. She has a host of mentors within the community and works to promote freedom school literacy programs within juvenile facilities.
Shalah is also the proud mother of an amazing little boy who just so happens to be the owner of Conscious Kidd.
