The Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland (CEOGC) is a non-profit organization operating the largest Head Start early childhood education program in Ohio. We are also the designated Community Action Agency for Cuyahoga County. We believe every individual has the ability to reach his or her full potential – we take pride in investing in people, nurturing their success and transforming their lives.
We serve the low-income residents of Cuyahoga County through education, community action, growth and career placement. Through our Professional Development workshops, we’re able to offer a number of opportunities including Customer Service Certification and Job Placement Assistance.
CEOGC offers Personal & Family Development services designed to empower low-income families in Cuyahoga County by helping them become self-sufficient. Services vary from tax preparation, Life Skills, Parenting Workshops and more.
Our Energy Assistance has multiple programs to help alleviate the burden caused by harsh winters and excruciatingly hot summers. The Winter Crisis Program helps eligible Greater Cleveland residents threatened with disconnection or those who have already been disconnected. The Summer Crisis Program helps income-eligible Greater Cleveland Residents with payment of electric bills and/or purchase of air conditioning units.
CEOGC’s Head Start program serves over 2,500 children and families annually throughout the Greater Cleveland area. CEOGC delivers high-quality early childhood education programs in safe, nurturing environments for children and families. All 13 centers are high-quality and four-or-five star rated by the State of Ohio’s Step Up to quality Program.
Research shows the first 2,000 days of a child’s life are when they obtain the most knowledge and it shapes their futures. Our certified teachers take pride in educating every child and helping them to fulfill their full potential at our high-quality Head Start centers.
