Is nothing sacred? In today’s world, not a single innuendo can go undiscovered. Least of all, one involving the word “Poon.” Today Show host Al Roker learned a hard, and possibly family-dinner-ruining lesson today, after decided to share his cherished Thanksgiving Recipe: “Sweet Potato Poon” on national television. The segment, which found each dish sampled by a panel of guest judges, found Roker breaking down the foundational elements of his signature “Poon.”
They are, as follows: Sweet potatoes, flour, a stick of butter, pineapple, all-spice brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and marshmallows. If the taste test is to be believed, the “poon” is delectable, if a little on the sweet side.
