CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – For the third year in a row, the Cleveland Metroparks water taxi that operates between the East and West Bank of the Flats will be free to passengers.

Service on the Cuyahoga River begins on Mother’s Day, according to the Cleveland Metroparks.

Beginning Sunday, May 12, the eLCee2 water taxi will operate:

  • Friday: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Memorial Day: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Fourth of July: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Labor Day: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

The 26-foot canopied yacht can accommodate 17 passengers and up to four bicycles. It is also ADA accessible and dog friendly.

Like last year, the free service on the eLCee2 water taxi is a result of the generosity from Steelmaker ArcelorMittal Cleveland.

A record 47,381 riders took the water taxi in 2018.
