MENTOR, Ohio (WOIO) – City officials announced on Tuesday that the 2019 BeachFest event at Mentor Headlands has been canceled because of the park’s conditions.
Organizers released a statement regarding the cancelation:
“The decision was made upon consultation with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources when it was determined that beach and parking lot conditions would be unsuitable to host the event.”
Northeast Ohio has been dealing with seemingly endless rainfall over the past several months, which left the Headlands parking lot and portions of the beach underwater.
