As his fifth studio album ‘Detroit 2’ nears it’s release, Big Sean has been making his rounds when it comes to promoting his new project. One subject that he can’t seem to avoid is the passing of ex-fiance Naya Rivera, who passed away in an apparent boating accident earlier this year.

Recently Sean has recieved backlash from Rivera fans who believe that Sean’s record ‘IDFWU’ was intended for recently deceased actor. Big Sean claims that that simply isn’t the case.

“She’s made such an impact on people, and she’s done so many great things in her life and her career that it was hurtful to even have that [song] be associated with her.  It wasn’t a diss to her. I truly made the song and played it for her. She knew about it, and she liked it.”
