Rapper and songwriter Smokepurpp took to social media yesterday in hopes of tracking down a couple dollars he says he’s owed by hip-hop mogul Kanye West. Well, $9 million to be exact.

“You owe me like $9 million,” Purpp pronounced in an IG post he put up on Wednesday, April 13th.

While Smoke didn’t say exactly what the missing payment was for, a report from HipHopDX claims that it’s likely over writing credits from Kanye and Lil Pump’s 2018 record ‘I Love It’.

According to HipHopDX:

Smokepurpp is one of seven credited writers on “I Love It,” which is double-platinum and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. He clearly feels he’s still owed a nice chunk of change for his contributions to the record.

Purpp has even more history with Kanye West. In 2020, Smokepurpp detailed in an interview with HipHopDX how he was forced to remove a Yeezy verse from “No Problem” because Kanye didn’t approve of himself cursing on the explicit track.
