Today is the day to celebrate munching on a Austrian pastry, known as croissant.
Did you know that Croissant actually originated from Austria?
It was introduced to those of France from Marie Antoinette.
The very first version of a croissant was actually “kipferl” and French bakers created the fancier version of Kipferls, and there you have a croissant.
So what is a croissant made out of ? Well its simple and similar to all breads, you have your yeast, butter, milk, flour, milk, and salt.
These days bakers put all type of glaze on top of a croissant turning some of them into a nice dessert, you can even add some filling into it.
Croissants are versatile so you can find them in all forms whether its for breakfast or after dinner.
Happy National Croissant Day!
