WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A West Palm Beach man is accused of leaving his 9-month-old daughter alone in a hot car while he shopped in an adult bookstore, police said.
Rafael Garcia was charged with child abuse and neglect on Saturday.
Garcia told police that he lost track of time while searching for a “sexy outfit” in the store.
Deputies said the infant had a 104-degree fever after being left alone for more than a half hour outside the adult book store on South Military Trail.
The girl was taken to Palms West Hospital and is expected to survive.
