With The 4th of July right around the corner, everyone will definitely want some sweet cocktails while hanging out under the umbrella.  Here are some recipes that will surely give you that cocktail kick while remaining low-fat and un-regrettable.

Recipes from VitalJuice: all about healthy ways to quench your thirst!

I have always been a sucker for sangria.  It’s delicious, refreshing, and gets the work done… fast.  Check out this recipe for organic sangria: It’s just as delicious as regular sangria and is only 105 calories per serving!

2 oz. cucumber-infused vodka, such as organic Crop Harvest Earth vodka

3 mint leaves

¾ oz. simple syrup

3 oz. white wine, such as Bonterra Viognier organic wine

4 oz. fresh pineapple juice

½ c. mix of red apple and cucumber, diced

Muddle vodka, mint and simple syrup in the bottom of a small pitcher. Fill pitcher with ice. Add wine and pineapple juice; mix. Add apples and cucumbers and serve.

I’ve always enjoyed bubbly drinks at parties. I have recently been into sparkling wine at dinner: the fizz just makes everything a little more exciting! That’s why as soon as I saw this recipe for the Cherry Chiller, I knew I had to try it out. This 149 calorie drink was one of my better decisions!

2 basil leaves, sliced into thin strips

3 pitted bing cherries, plus 2 for garnish

1/2 oz. gin

1/2 oz. simple syrup

1/2 oz. lime juice

3 oz. Sparkling rose wine, such as Moët & Chandon Rose Imperial

Combine basil, cherries, lime juice, gin and simple syrup in a shaker; muddle. Top with ice and shake vigorously. Pour contents into a highball glass and top off with rose wine.

Pina Coladas are everyone’s guilty pleasure.  If only they weren’t so sugary! Try out this coconut cocktailthat embraces the perks of coconuts but keeps away the calories! The coconut water is full of electrolytes: keeping the drink refreshing and and making it an excellent idea for a 4th of July cocktail party!

1/2 lime, cut into wedges

2 tsp. superfine sugar

1 1/2 oz. Leblon Cachaça

Vita Coco coconut water

Muddle first 3 ingredients in a highball glass. Fill to the top with coconut water. Garnish with a lime wheel.

I’d like to make a toast to a night of fireworks, drinks, no shame, and no regrets! Do you have any other “go-to cocktails” that are healthy? Fill us in! The 4th of July is right around the corner!
