Playing peacemaker, Lil B said he has no plans to unleash disses toward Gibbs.
Lil B, in true Based God fashion, kept the positive vibe going, continuing to downplay any beef with Gibbs or Mysonne when he appeared on MTV’s “RapFix Live on Wednesday. “I got love for … Fred and the other dude. I got love because they dope artists,” Lil B said. “This is hip-hop and love; I got respect for both of those cats.” (MTV)
Yesterday, Gibbs came forward to speak out on taunting B’s album title.
“Let me set the record straight, period, — I don’t have no issue with any rappers,” Gibbs promised in an interview. “Because, at the end of the day, this is rap, you know? With me, as a fan, a critic, I got the right to say my opinion…I don’t got anything against what Lil B or anybody is doing. You a black man, and you out here generating capital, generating money for your family. I’m all for it. That you’re delivering a message that I don’t agree with, I’m definitely gonna say that…If I don’t say nothing — everybody gonna co-sign something they don’t agree with deep down…I’m not gonna beat him up when I see him.” (Billboard)
Last week, Gibbs mocked the rapper’s album name at a Brooklyn concert.
“No f*ck sh*t. This ain’t no Lil B Based God or no f*cking f*ggot sh*t like that up here,” Freddie told fans at a Southpaw Brooklyn show April 27th. “What the f*ck you thought this was? N*gga this is real rap. N*gga. Based God get the f*ck outta here n*gga.” (YouTube)

Power 105.1 radio host Angela Yee talked to SOHHthis week about B’s controversial decision.
“Even with dance artists or big R&B artists like Beyonce, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, who has a huge gay fan base, those are the people that are going out and buying the albums and showing support,” Yee added. “So I feel like the same thing could potentially happen for somebody like Lil B where the gay community could really embrace and support him [whether he’s gay or not]. It’s a statement that’s made that has people talking. It’s like whenNas decided he wanted to call his [2008] album N*gger. It didn’t work out, but there was a huge uproar over that. I think anything that creates dialogue in our community is a good thing.” (SOHH)
