About Lil Wayne, Jennifer said, “He really is unique. He’s so not what you would think or what you would think him to be,” “Like when I got on the phone with him to talk about the record, I thought he was going to be like, ‘Hey, what’s up, J.Lo?’ and instead he was like, ‘Yes, ma’am.’

“I was like, ‘Are you going to be able to do this record? I need it done this week and do you want to do it?’ and he was like, ‘Of course I do. Yes, ma’am. I’ll get it done this week, ma’am,’ ” she added, laughing. “I’ve always found him an interesting artist, and the things he says and the way he says them, and I just thought he wasn’t the obvious choice for this record, but for me he was the only choice.”

Earlier this week, J.Lo premiered a video for “I’m Into You,” from which Wayne was noticeably absent. She confirmed that a version of the clip “definitely” featuring the hip-hop star will drop on Thursday (May 5) on BET’s “106 & Park.” adding, “He’s definitely in the video.”

As for the scenes in the video that show Lopez cavorting in Mexico, she said those were a blast to shoot. “I mean, I love [the director] Melina [Matsoukas] … With this we wanted it to be kind of soft and beautiful,” J.Lo explained. “We had a beautiful location and we were going to shoot by the water and just make it like one of those old kind of Herb Ritts-style videos.

“The first day we shot at the pyramids, which was just me by myself,” she continued. “It was a kind of empowering feeling on the pyramid with the dress blowing … it was kind of amazing. It gave the video kind of an epic feel. [It] was all very earthy and epic and big.”
