So far, 2011 has been the year of Adele, as her XL/Columbia album, 21, looks headed for an eighth week atop the HITS Album sales chart, with sales north of 100k, which should send her total soaring over 1.6 million here in the U.S. Odd Future rap provocateur Tyler, the Creator’s XL/Beggars bow, Goblin, the follow-up to his much publicized 2009 Bastard mixtape, is on target for 40-45k. Tyler The Creator has now joined many other hotly anticipated acts in a fashion that some may think is nothing more than a timely dupe – the Odd Future’s de facto leader’s album Goblin, backed by popular British indie XL Recordings, has leaked to the Web and it is causing a frenzy like no other. After duping fans with fabricated leaks of his debut album adding Celine Dionsongs and other humorous bits according to tweets from the Odd Future Wolf Gang leader, it seems that an official leak of the album has hit the web and rabid fans have snatched it up to dissect the release – yet some supportive OFWGKTA fans are defiantly refusing to download the leaks until the album’s official May 10 release. Bastard is the debut studio album by Tyler the Creator of OFWGKTA. The album was entirely self-produced and was first released December 25, 2009. The album was ranked 32nd on Pitchfork Media’s list of the Top 50 Albums of 2010, while the single “French” was ranked 61st on Pitchfork Media’s list of the Top 100 Tracks of 2010. (Wikipedia)

Odd Future may have popped up on hip-hop’s radar seemingly out of nowhere, but the L.A.-based hip-hop collective has been making a name for themselves for quite some time. A recent visit to ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,’ where they performed ‘Sandwitches,’ put them on mainstream’s map as well as garnered them a bunch of new fans, one being Kanye West. Kanye, known for his Twitter rants, took to the social networking site on Wednesday (Feb. 23) to tweet about Odd Future member Tyler the Creator’s video for his track ‘Yonkers,’ dubbing it “the video of 2011.” (The Boom Box)
