With June being “Black Music Month” it is rather fitting that Jill Scott would drop her fourth studio album “The Light of the Sun” on June 21.
Jill Scott definitely tops the list as our favorite soul sista! Scott is able to infuse many elements of black music: jazz, R&B, spoken word, and hip hop into her music to create a distinct sound that sets her apart from many of her female peers.
