A Georgia teen used a 36-inch sword to stab his grandmother, 55-year-old Laura Prince, in the arm and to kill his great-grandmother, 77-year-old Mary Joan Gibbs, after they told him to stop playing the video game, Halo.

When police arrived at the home in Douglasville, Georgia, the 14-year-old was pacing up and down his front yard holding the sword and a pellet gun.

Police found his great-grandmother’s body on the lawn and his grandma, locked herself in a room.

Police had to use a police dog and then a taser to subdue the teen. “He came out with a pellet gun and shot two windows out of a patrol car that was sitting there,” said Douglas Country Sheriff Phil Miller.

“He was shooting at us with the pellet gun and swinging the sword around in the air.

“We sent a K-9 unit in and he hit the K-9 with the butt of his gun. At that point, we tasered him and took him into custody.” The boy’s grandmother is recovering in hospital from her wounds.

The teen was sent to the hospital for mental evaluations twice after violent episodes in the past, but both times the boy was released.

He’s charged with murder and will likely be tried as an adult. He is being held in jail without bond.
