Rapper Big Boi blasted a New Zealand airport store for selling “racist” dolls! The Outkast star posted pictures of the toys (seen below) on his Twitter page describing them as “golliwogs,” a controversial series of dolls that depict black people in a racially offensive manner.
The New Zealand Herald got wind of it and contacted Auckland’s airport management, who then had the dolls removed.
Airport corporate relations manager, Richard Llewellyn said: “Once we were made aware, the retailer was immediately asked to remove the product from sale.”
“In this case we acknowledge that this is a product widely regarded as inappropriate. We apologize for any offense caused as a result of this product being on sale at the airport,” he added.
Way to go Big Boi!
