Fresh off of showing his documentary Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap at Sundance, Ice-T has sold the worldwide rights to Indomina for distribution.
According to a press release, The Indomina Group, which is also producing a live-action version of Afro Samurai starring Samuel L. Jackson, will handle the global distribution of the film, with plans for theatrical release in the summer.
“It was important to us to get with a company that has as much passion about ‘Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap’ as we do and that company is Indomina,” said Ice-T. “They are a fantastic partner and a great company. We look forward to working with them and releasing this film to the world.”
The film, described as “a performance documentary about the runaway juggernaut that is hip-hop,” features guest appearances from Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Chuck D, Snoop Dogg and more.
