From the classic 90′s movie “Love Jones” (written and directed by Theodore Witcher)..a “Blues for Nina” easily went down as one of the most memorable moments in black film history. Darius Lovehall (Lorenz Tate) performs a spur-of-the-moment poem for Nina (Nia Long), whom he’s just met officially moments before. Great story about the struggles of black love.

When was the last time you saw a black film in which the main characters quote George Bernard Shaw, invoke Gordon Parks, and play Charlie Parker? Whether your into the poetry or not, you have to admit, it was sexy:

”Who am I? It doesn’t matter. I’m the blues in your left thigh, trying to be the funk in your right.”

ENJOY!
