Would YOU download this app? Do you Think this app would be effective?

The TSA will soon be held accountable for any attempts at racial profiling. Civil rights groups are prepping to release a cell phone application that will allow users to post incidents of racial profiling in real time.  Members of the Sikh Coalition, Muslim Advocates, South Asian Americana Leading Together, and the Leadership Conference on Civil Human Rights, have all united to launch the application.

“Racial profiling is ineffective and wasteful law enforcement that regularly and unfairly deprives people of their freedom,” said Leadership Conference president and CEO, Wade Henderson.  “This app will protect the innocent individuals who are most targeted and make air travel safer for everyone.”

The TSA has come under fire for profiling minorities, a criticism that has spiked since 9/11. They’ve also been known to pay extra attention to small children, the elderly, and black passengers. Last summer a Seattle woman claimed to have been singled out for having “poofy hair,” while a few months later, a Texas woman accused the security detail of profiling for searching her afro.
