Coachella was where it happened, Dr. Dre and Snoop made it happen!! Tupac albums are bouncing up the charts after the deceased rapper’s hologram performance in California.
Two weeks after the creepy/awesomeTupac hologram brought the legendary rapper back to life for a few moments, the impact of the performance has shown in the Billboard charts.
2 Pac perfoms at Coachella via hologram
Tupac’sGreatest Hits album from 1998 returned to the Billboard 200 for the first time since 2000, landing at No. 129 with 4,000 copies sold according to Nielsen SoundScan (a gain of a staggering 571% over the previous week). Pac’s also saw gains on All Eyez On Me (2,000; up 95%) and Me Against the World (1,000; up 53%).
After performing “Hail Mary,” and “2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted” at the Coachella festival, the singles moved 13,000 downloads last week for a 1,530% sales increase and 9,000 downloads for a 881% increase, respectively.
When we said that Tupac’s hologram had the biggest buzz of any rapper since the performance, we weren’t kidding.
