The wife of New York Jets star Antonio Cromartie is in the hospital after sending her husband a string of suicidal text messages.
Terricka Cason Cromartie (seen on left below) wrote in the messages to the football player: “God forgive me, I don’t want to die. What have I done? and I cut my wrists. I took those pills.”
But when police turned up at the couple’s Randolph Township, New Jersey address they found her alive and well in bed with her two daughters.
A freaked out Cromartie called cops from where he was staying in Miami immediately after receiving the desperate texts at around 3am on Sunday morning, the New York Post reported.
They were forced to break down two doors to get inside to Mrs Cromartie (seen below) using an axe and sledgehammer because there was no response when they rang the doorbell.
Mrs Cromartie admitted that the texts had been a hoax, saying that she had sent them to her husband because she thought he was cheating on her and that she never had any intention of committing suicide.
“She said she was exercising her First Amendment right to free speech and could say whatever she wanted,” a police report stated.
Mrs Cromartie also texted the woman she thought the pro footballer was sleeping with, trying to scare her off.
Mr Cromartie has 10 kids, eight of them with seven other women, and the crew is set to get bigger – last month 31-year-old Mrs Cromartie tweeted that the couple are expecting twins.
Right now their daughters (below) are in the custody of the child protection agency after their mother was forcibly taken to hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
She tried to worm her way out of it saying she needed to go to her sister’s wedding, turning aggressive and irrational, but cops were adamant that she was in need of help and she was hauled off.
