In Hip-Hop, loving one woman and being dedicated to her is bypassed in favor of blowing money fast with any fine woman who looks seductively in your direction. Things are starting to change for the better. Rappers’ significant others are becoming the inspiration for some of their most personal songs. If you want to give them props for something else, you could get away with saying Jay-Z and Beyonce kicked the trend into high gear with their hit “03 Bonnie & Clyde.”
Our people at Hip Hop Wired came up with a list of rappers who have dedicated a few hot sixteens to their lady loves. Take a look at an excerpt below:
Jim Jones – “Hold You Down”
Dedicated To: Chrissy Lampkin
Shortly after she proposed to him – you read that right – on the VH1 reality show Love & Hip-Hop, Jim Jones responded by releasing this heartfelt ode to his longtime boo Chrissy Lampkin. Even exchange, we guess.
Bars for Chrissy: “It’s been a few years since we first met. Six years and you went and took the first step.”
