Al Pacino is set to play the role of Joe Paterno in a new movie based on the biography “Paterno,” written by Sports Illustrated writer Joe Posnanski.
No word on whether this will be a major film or made-for-tv movie yet. Al Pacino is clearly a HUGE movie star (and my boyfriend), but I don’t know about putting this in the theaters, especially the way Westboro Baptist Church was trying to picket Paterno’s funeral. You think they’re gonna let a movie play??
Many people have mixed feelings about Paterno, after learning that he knew about the child abuse happening at Penn State at the hands of Jerry Sandusky and, in their eyes, failed to prevent it.
Can’t wait to see how this movie turns out though. Al Pacino played Tony Montana….and he was Satan in The Devil’s Advocate. This should be a piece of cake.
