In Pusha’s perspective, the more criticism Yeezy receives helps serve as reminders of the right things they are doing.

Kanye West obviously isn’t new to criticism, as he notes in his rhymes that he feels the media is out to crucify him, but one has to wonder how his team is responding to the critiques, being creatively involved in Cruel Summer. “I wanna be criticized as much as Kanye, because if I’m criticized that much I think it means I’m just as successful as him,” Pusha told MTV News. “I want him to keep being criticized; I want people to keep talking about him.” “At the end of the day people say a lot of things but I don’t even think they mean it half the time,” he added. “Because they know that Kanye’s great.” (MTV)

This week, Mr. West put out a Cruel Summer promotional video which delved into his creative process behind making the LP.

“I like when I get mad at music because it’s so good. I’m like, ‘Oh sh*t, why didn’t we think of that? Why didn’t we do that?’ I’m not interested in things unless they just hit me in a certain place in my heart and my gut. I get bored really easily. I’m like majorly underwhelmed in general. I’m looking for some form of excitement for this music to be our outlet. We started off by just getting everybody in the lab together. We reached out to other camps to just do something new and exciting hi hip-hop minus all the politics.” (Kanye West)

Back in 2010, Pusha T gave SOHH his reaction to seeing Ye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy receive a perfect “XXL” rating byXXL Magazine.

“Kanye is well-deserving of an XXL rating, whether he got it or not,” Pusha told SOHH. “Rapping? People aren’t f*cking with him rapping. Musically? People aren’t f*cking with him. This is like he’s pushing the bar. He’s doing all of this awesome sh*t and at the same time he’s keeping [a straight] face about it. That within itself says ‘I win.’ He wins, with the XXL rating and all of that, he wins.” (SOHH)

Last year, Kanye reportedly lashed out at his haters and critics alike at a fashion event.

Kanye West recently debuted his fashion line in Paris to mixed reviews. This past Saturday night the singer celebrated the line in extreme style with a dazzling after party, and took that time to address critics and haters alike. “This is my first collection. Please be easy. Please give me a chance to grow,” he allegedly shouted at the party. “This is not some celebrity sh*t. I don’t f*ck with celebrities. I f*ck with the creatives in this room, the amazing people who spend every day of their life trying to make the world a more beautiful place.” What did you think of Kanye’s collection? (Billboard)
