David Banner is the quintessential Renaissance man.  He’s a Grammy Award winning producer, rapper, actor and philanthropist. A man of the people and wanting to make a change within the African American Community, Banner kicked off his 2M1 Movement, with the release of his SEX, DRUGS & VIDEO GAMES in May 2012, which featured artists such as Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Big K.R.I.T., Snoop Dogg, The Game and more. Still moving strong towards his goal, to date Banner has received over $500,000 pledges. Inspired by comedian Louie C.K., The 2M1 Movement (2 Million 1 Purpose) is a mission that Banner created in order for fans and consumers of urban music, movies, media and content to gain control and influence on what they consume in this space. As part of his original promise to his fans to give back and to lead by example by investing in organizations that help to keep African American youth off the streets, Banner donated portions of the money received to the Chicago based organization Kids Off The Block and the Mississippi Boys Club to help keep urban youth off the streets and give them a safe place to grow up.
“Making sure that I reached back into the communities that needed it most, I wanted to be apart of the change that is needed to help guide and bring up our youth,” states Banner.  “I realize that although I am a work in progress, kids look up to people like me and others in the public eye.  I want to help inspire and move others.”

Currently David Banner is back at work producing music for artists like Lil’ Wayne, Ludacris and Ne-Yo as well as working on projects for Disney.   Fans can also expect to see Banner on the big screen this winter in “7500” and “They Die By Dawn.”
