Rihanna explain’s her scandalous relationship with a certain you-know-who: Robert Pattinson.

Oh, sorry, that’s probably not who you had in mind, but as the cover storyexplains, recent tabloid reports had some wondering whether RiRi and R-Patz were getting flirty via text message. When told about this, Rihanna apparently “expressed horror and pronounced it ‘the most bullsh-t ever,’ but she also seemed amused.”

Speaking of horrors: Chris Brown came up a few times over the course of the story as well. First off, Rihanna explains that she is indeed single and hasn’t been on a date in two years. (She says “no one asks.”) With that out of the way, she also confirms that she and Brown still share a friendly relationship — and that she doesn’t care what the public thinks of it.

“To the world, I feel like there’s no closure,” she said of the ongoing Chris Brown chapter of her life. “There’s some obsession that’s continued even throughout when we weren’t friends or couldn’t be friends at all. Hated each other. The world hasn’t let go. They haven’t seen any progress in our friendship, because they don’t see anything, really, besides the song.”

She went on to say that her “Birthday Cake” remix with Brown was her idea. “I was on a tour bus ride between two cities, listening to my album, thinking, Oooh, maybe I should make this into a duet. And I started coming up with a bunch of people, and his name crossed my mind. I thought, We haven’t made a song in so long together . . . it could be a little shocking.”

“I feel like as soon as they have closure to it, they will,” she continued saying of the public outrage over her friendliness with Brown, her former boyfriend who assaulted her. “But they’re not on the inside. They can’t see what I see, unless they’re sitting in my point of view. I guess I’ll learn to accept that.”

But apparently there is one person who does get her at least a little bit: Katy Perry, who Rihanna chilled with at this year’s MTV VMAs. The pair bonded over having to “go through personal things in a very public way,” she told Vogue, adding that they “genuinely care if each other are OK.”
