Rather than sign through Cash Money/Young Money, Drizzy’s indie label has joined forces with Warner Bros. Records.

October’s Very Own, the label spearheaded by Drake, has inked a deal with Warner Bros. Records. A rumored deal was first floated by Hits Daily Double on Tuesday (Dec. 4), and a source has confirmed the impending partnership to Billboard. More details are expected to be released on Wednesday. Rumors of a possible label deal brewing surfaced on Monday(November 3).

OCTOBERFEST: Word on the street has Drake inking a deal with Warner Bros. for his label OVO (October’s Very Own). Look for the first releases from the pact to come in 2013. (12/3p) (HITS Daily Double)

Drake and longtime friend/producer Noah “40” Shebib have been the driving forces behind October’s Very Own.

Though the imprint has yet to reveal its roster, Drake has promoted the brand via his October’s Very Own blog, through which he frequently premieres his music, OVO branded clothing and Toronto’s annual OVO fest, which takes place each summer. (The Boom Box)

This is one of Drake’s latest accomplishments since graduating high school earlier this fall.

“I reached a point in my life where I realized there aren’t material things that can give me the excitement that I’m looking for,” he told his cheering peers. “There’s a void in my life that I need to fill and I need to sit and think long and hard what that was. It was the fact that I had left a gaping hole in my story of following through.” He concluded the speech by dedicating his new diplomato his mother, “because she’s a retired teacher and always wanted me to graduate,” he said. “I think I’ll sleep a little better tonight knowing that I found a way to follow through.” (Rolling Stone)
