CHARDON, Ohio – Sheriff’s deputies in Geauga County continue to search for a 17-year-old who was last seen Tuesday.

The family of Gino Tamburro, 17, said it’s not like their son to not come home. The teen was last seen Tuesday around 6 p.m. in Chardon wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers jacket and jeans.

Tamburro is 6-feet tall and weighs around 200 pounds.

The Tamburro family has posted “Missing Teen” signs all around the city with their son’s picture and description, hoping someone will recognize him and help him safely return home.

Search parties are gathered at the Chardon trailer park with K-9s where the teen and his family live. A helicopter and ground crews in parks adjacent to the trailer park are being used to aid in the search efforts.

Described as a straight A student, family members said Tamburro quit high school so he could take care of his stepfather and get him to his doctor appointments. Tamburro planned to finish school via online courses.

Tamburro’s iPad and cellphone were left behind and his mother said she and his stepfather live only five mobile homes away.

“It’s very uncharacteristic that he suddenly disappeared, walking from one to the other,” Tamburro’s mother explained.

The Geauga County sheriff is taking the missing person case “very seriously.”
