This is child abuse! Sometimes we just don’t understand why people are so cruel and how parents can be so clueless about who cares for their kids.

Via NY Daily News reports:

A southern California woman is under arrest in connection with the death of a 2-year-old girl who suffered a seizure after ingesting chili powder.

According to KTLA News, the woman forced the child to eat the chili powder as punishment.

A spokeswoman with the San Bernardino County Sheriff said the investigation was ongoing and refused to confirm or deny the discipline report.

Amanda Sorensen, 21, of Apple Valley was taken into custody Monday on suspicion of child abuse resulting in death, authorities said.

The child was the daughter of Sorensen’s boyfriend, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

“We responded to a report of a child suffering a seizure,” Jodi Miller told the Daily News. “We did not comment as to anything that may have occurred as part of the ongoing investigation.”

Police from Apple Valley, Calif., rushed to the residence at 4:16 p.m. Sunday and transported the child to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Early Monday, Sorensen was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center where she was being held on $500,000 bail.

That poor baby. God rest her soul!
