Beyoncé put it all out there in her documentary, “Life is But a Dream.”

The HBO debut covered a gamut of topics, including parting ways with her father, Mathew Knowles.

“I felt like I had to move on and not work with my dad,” said Beyoncé. “I don’t care if I don’t sell one record. This is bigger than the record. It’s bigger than my career. I think one of the biggest reasons I decided it was time for me to manage myself is because at some point you need your support system and you need your family.”

Since the very public split, the two have kept mum. But Mathew appeared on HLN’s “The Showbiz Countdown” and expressed his joy and pride in his daughter.

“I’m proud to see her as a mother,” he said. “I know this was something very important to her and to see her hold Blue Ivy—that’s something very special. I have a picture that no one else will ever get to see of her holding Blue Ivy. You can see the joy in her face.”

While he avoided personal questions about grandfathering Blue, he bubbled over a bit more with joy about how he’s happy to watch his daughter do what she loves.
