(BlackMediaScoop) SMDH! Falcons safety William Moore, who recently re-signed with the team after a playing in his first Pro Bowl, was arrested and charged with simple battery on Thursday, according to Fulton County Jail Records.

Moore was booked into Fulton County Jail and is due in court at 11 a.m. Friday, according to jail records. “We are aware of the situation involving William Moore and are in the process of gathering more information,” a Falcons spokesperson said in a statement released to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time.”

Moore got into a dispute with a woman and grabbed her shoulder, according to a report by WSB-TV. The Falcons reached a five-year, $30 million deal with safety William Moore on March 9. “It’s a relief,” said Moore, who had $14 million of the deal guaranteed. “That was my ultimate goal, to continue to be here in Atlanta and try to get the Super Bowl. I’m very pleased with the negotiations.”

Moore, who made the Pro Bowl last season as an alternate, was set to become an unrestricted free agent.Moore, who turns 28 in May, was drafted in the second round (55th overall) of the 2009 draft. He missed most of his rookie season with knee and hamstring injuries.

Moore broke into the lineup in 2010, starting 15 of 16 games. He had 108 tackles and five interceptions.

In 2011, Moore started 11 of 12 games and had 62 tackles and two interceptions. Last season, Moore turned in a fine season with 105 tackles and four interceptions.

He went to the Pro Bowl when San Francisco’s Pro Bowl safeties Donte Whitner and Dashon Goldson reached the Super Bowl.
