It was recently confirmed that Roc Nation bossman Jay-Z had snagged his worldwide wifey Beyonce to cover and remix the infamous “Back To Black” song, originally recorded by the late Amy Winehouse, to be included on the soundtrack for the newly released flick “The Great Gatsby.”

After a snippet of Beyoncé and Andre 3K’s Amy Winehouse remix for the upcoming flick The Great Gatsby hit the ‘net, the late singer’s father Mitch Winehouse was not impressed.

Amy’s pops wasn’t particularly pleased when he heard that Beyonce would be covering one of his daughter’s standout hits “Back to Black.”

“I don’t think she brings anything to it,” he told the Daily Mail. “I wasn’t asked for my permission if they could record it.”

He eventually accepted the track’s use. The slowed-down and warped Andre 3000-assisted cover is part of the official soundtrack to the film, which is being co-scored by none other than hubby Jay-Z.

Seems questionable that  Hov wouldn’t get the proper clearance to use the song since it’s no secret that he’s highly aware of how things work on the business end of music, so we doubt there’s much truth to that part.

But aside from that, do you agree with daddy Winehouse’s assessment of Beyonce’s performance on “Back to Black?” Or is he just being a hater?
