*While many people expected Kanye West and Kim Kardashian to give their daughter a “K” name the couple didn’t to avoid references to the Ku Klux Klan.
On an episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Kim K was speaking with her step-brother Brody Jenner and sister Kourtney Kardashian about naming options. She then revealed that although she “kind of” wanted to name her daughter a name that began with K to keep the family tradition going, she was hesitant because of the references it might have rendered.
“Our kid, if it’s a K, then they’ll call us the KKK,” Kardashian said.
The reality star and her rapper boyfriend eventually settled on North West and says siblings were supportive of their decision.
“It’s pretty and cool,” Kourtney said.
Kardashian is known for vying for and staying in the public spotlight; but she has been keeping a low profile while she recovers from her first child birthing experience.
Her plan is to debut her post-pregnancy body on her mother Kris Jenner‘s talk show, “Kris.”
