The “Cosby Show” star, 27, took to the social networking site to share her excitement about the June Supreme Court that struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and recent Minnesota and Rhode Island laws allowing gay marriage.
“I can finally get married! Yay government!”
she wrote.
“So proud of you.”
Symone explained her statement further to E! News, clarifying that she isn’t currently engaged — just thrilled for couples who have the option.
“I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted,”
Symone said.
“I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however, am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to.”
