A Chicago man is behind bars after being accused of murdering a friend and wounding another following an arguing over beer money. Police say Gumaro Torres, 31, chipped in some money for beer with his co-workers on Friday night, but got angry that he didn’t get change from the person doing the beer run, Newser.com reported.

Torres reportedly drank several beers before getting into a heated argument over the missing money. He left the home of a co-worker and went to his own house on the same block. He came back a short time later with a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, and expressed his displeasure to his drinking partners.

“He stated that he was angry that when he returned the victims laughed at him,”

prosecutors said in court, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Torres has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He is being without bail and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, CBS Chicago reported.
