Jennifer Hudson started as a contestant on “American Idol” and now she’s a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
According to reports, the Oscar and Grammy Award winner received the 2,512th star on Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles today. She accepted the well-deserved honor rocking her new pixie cut and with fiancé David Otunga and son David Jr. by her side.
“I knew I would get emotional and I’m sure my mom is in heaven like ‘Jenny stop crying’ but now’s the time to cry mama, it is,” she told the crowd. “This is an amazing honor as we all know and I did not see this coming. I’m so honored to be here with so many that I love and I feel as though we’re all a family.”
Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, said the organization was “so happy to honor Jennifer Hudson with a star on the Walk of Fame.”
“She is a great talent and a great addition to our Walk of Fame,” she said. “Fans from all over the world have been waiting for this special day since we announced Jennifer’s selection for the star.”
After the ceremony, the super-talented singer showed her gratitude on Twitter. “Just got my star on the #WalkOfFame!! Such an honor,” she wrote.
Famous faces who came out to congratulate J-Hud included music industry executive Clive Davis, songstress Ledisi and singer Raphael Saadiq.
