According to our friends at 19 Action News shelters are at capacity on a night expected to be so cold that the homeless left outside could freeze.

Even commuters on public transportation could be affected by temperatures that may drop so low that a lengthy wait for a bus might not be an option. Temperatures are expected to plummet so much that Cleveland’s recreation centers will be turned into warming centers.

On Monday, Jan. 6, 20 Cleveland recreation centers will be turned into spacious warming centers with restrooms and rooms where people can, sit, talk, nap and stay warm.
