Some people have no tolerance for diva behavior and apparently the executives at NBC fall into that group. The network’s decision makers sent Mariah Carey home after she showed up extremely late to a taping of a tree lighting ceremony Tuesday night (Dec. 2).

According to TMZ, Mimi was holed up in her hotel room discussing her impending divorce from Nick Cannon with her lawyer, and showed up to the Rockefeller Center tree lighting event more than three hours late. And to top it off, fans had to endure cold temperatures and nasty rain while waiting for her to show up.

In fact, when the singer finally arrived, she was still on her phone discussing the divorce, which seemed to be the final straw for NBC executives. From there, they told the songstress to turn around and head home because they weren’t going to let her perform.

The latest word to come in is that Carey will be performing live, despite missing yesterday’s taping. Knowing her past history of live singing — she fell short while grabbing the mic for ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ last year — we’re not sure how this whole show will end. Will she put on a stellar set or fall flat? Tune in to the Rockefeller tree lighting ceremony tonight (Dec. 3) on NBC at 8PM to find out.
