We’ve all heard/or witnessed social media putting an end to relationships. But Facebook has taken the kill to another level.  In a benchmark ruling, a New York City judge granted permission for a woman to file for divorce…in Facebook.

A Manhattan Supreme Court Judge by the name of Matthew Cooper is allowing a Brooklyn, NY woman to serve her fleeting husband divorce papers through a Facebook message because he ran away years ago and reportedly communicates with her only by phone and Facebook. This is a last shot of effort after her husband has refused to make himself available to be served with divorce papers.

“We tried everything, including hiring a private detective — and nothing,” the woman’s lawyer said.

According to reports, the first Facebook message serving the papers was sent to the husband last week, but “so far, he hasn’t responded.”
